Layout and quality
The optimiser tries progressively lower JPEG quality and page resolution, keeping the closest practical result. Complex or multi-page source images may not reach an extremely small target while remaining readable.
Troubleshooting
Common upload problems
- The image will not open: use a JPG/JPEG, PNG or WebP file under 30 MB; screenshots can often be re-saved as JPG.
- The page looks cropped: choose Contain to keep all image edges, or reduce crop zoom.
- The PDF is too large: lower image quality, use a smaller page, or use the target-size tool for a stated KB limit.
- Text is unclear: start with a sharper source image and avoid compressing below what remains readable.

Will the PDF always be under 200 KB?
The tool tries to meet the selected maximum. If it cannot, it reports the closest reasonable result instead of claiming success.
Why can a multi-page PDF be hard to compress?
Every page needs image data. More pages, text detail and high-resolution photos all increase the minimum practical size.
