Software Consulting

Work out what's worth building before you spend on it

The most expensive software mistakes happen before any code is written. Building the wrong thing. Building the right thing in the wrong order. Paying for a custom system when a subscription would have done, or buying a subscription when the problem was never software in the first place.

If you're not sure what you need, that's a good place to start and a cheap problem to solve. We look at how your business runs now, where it actually hurts, and what fixing it would be worth — then tell you what we'd do, including when the answer is to do nothing yet.

This is probably you if

  • You know something isn't working but not what to build
  • You've been quoted for a project and want a second opinion
  • You're choosing between building, buying, or changing your process
  • You have a long list of ideas and need to know what comes first

What you get

  • A review of how your business currently operates
  • A straight answer on whether software is the right fix
  • What we'd build, in what order, and roughly what it involves
  • Where an existing product would serve you better than a build
  • No obligation to build it with us

Questions people ask

Will you just tell us to build something expensive?
No, and we'd rather lose the work than do that. Sometimes the right answer is a change to your process, or an existing product costing a few hundred rupees a month. Recommending a build you don't need is how a studio gets one project and no reputation.
What if we want to build it with someone else?
That's fine. The point of the exercise is that you know what you need — what you do with that is your call, and we're not going to hold the reasoning hostage.
Do you charge for the first conversation?
No. The first conversation is free and there's no obligation attached to it. Describe the problem, and you'll get our honest read on whether it's worth solving with software and what that would involve.
What do you need from us to be useful?
An honest description of how the work actually gets done — including the workarounds and the bits people do on paper because the official system is too slow. Those workarounds are usually where the real problem is.
